Sadon, a ghost village
Tamara Agkatseva
2016-2017
The village of Sadon was established in the 19th century by a mine in the mountains of North Ossetia. It had been expanding and prospering until 2002, when a mud torrent destroyed the better part of it killing residents.
The rest have left leaving the remnants of the houses and gardens abandoned. Few though have not moved and still live in Sadon. They say they are like ghosts for the rest of North Ossetia.
